My Third Class!

I consider that my third class was a nice experience because I felt comfortable with the teacher, the group, my activities and material. I remember that I was really nervous because I had to teach grammar and make some activities about the topic.

I started the class with a nice song called ¨Don´t give up¨, this song had a lot of sentences in simple present. So students received a copy and they had to underline the sentences in simple present. I remember that students really loved the song because it was really nice. Then, I had to teach new vocabulary about family member; fortunately students understood the meaning of the new vocabulary. I remember that I had to draw in order to make students understand better.

Moreover, I asked students to make some activities about the new vocabulary because I wanted to know if students had already to understand how to use the new words in context. Fortunately, students did not have problems with this vocabulary. On the other hand, I had to teach grammar about the information questions in simple present. I brought a poster in order to explain grammar to students, so it was really useful because they understood better.

For some students, this kind of topic is not difficult, but other students have many difficulties at the moment to practice the grammar. Finally, I had prepared some activities about the topic, so students worked in them.

Something that I did not like in my class: I did not like the time because I think that the time is not enough when we have to teach and make many things during one class.

Something that I liked in my class: I really liked the students’ interest when I was teaching grammar. The complete group has an excellent attitude when they are learning something new.

My third class was a very interesting experience. I learned a lot.

My Second Class!

I started my class with a review about the previous topics, so students had the opportunity to remember about important information. Then, I tried to teach about the topic ¨Family Members¨, so it was difficult to explain because some of the students looked confused. I tried to use some activities in order to make the topic easier for the students. I consider that for students is difficult to learn a lot vocabulary at the same time, so it is important to make the vocabulary understandable for students at the moment to teach it. Moreover, I remember that I wanted to use the projector and the computer during the class because students can understand more when they have visual material, but unfortunately it was not possible because my USB did not work. I think that we as future teachers have to face this kind of problem/s, so we have to have a plan B.

My second class was different that the first class because I made a lot of mistakes during the development of the activities. I remember that the teacher made some observations about grammar in my activities, so it was not so good. In the other hand, I consider that students in this group are really intelligent because they participated during the class; they also helped me to develop all the activities.

Something that I did not like in my class: I consider that my class was not excellent but it was acceptable. I did not like the mistakes that I made about grammar because I didn´t feel comfortable with the group and the teacher. The most important, it is to know that if we want to learn, we have to make mistakes.

Something that I liked in my class: I liked the beginning of the class because students really liked the way in which they practiced previous topics (warm-up). The teacher also liked the warp up as a review.

I tried to do the best during my second class, and I know that I learned many things. It is important to remember that each class is a new experience, and a new way to learn more.

My First Class!

My first class as a teacher…!

I consider that my first experience teaching was interest because I felt comfortable with the students and the teacher. Fortunately, I could start the class with enthusiasm because the students gave me the opportunity to share and teach them about the topic. When I started the class, I could see that the majority of students had basic knowledge about the topic and the English Language, so it was excellent. I started the class with a warm up ¨Hot potato¨, and fortunately students enjoyed the activity. Moreover, I could see that some students liked to participate during the class and the activities, so as teachers we like to have students who likes to participate because it help them to have a better learning process.

During the class, I made some activities about the topic ¨Prepositions of place and time¨. Some students developed the activities without any difficulties; however, other students felt the activities as a challenge, but I tried to help and demonstrate confidence to the students who had more difficulties.

Something that I did not like in my class: I consider that the majority of the time, the class was quiet; however, I saw a group of students who talk a lot, so I had to face this kind of situations during my class.

Something that I liked in my class: I really liked that students were very respect and friendly with me; moreover, they participated in all the activities. On the other hand, I felt very comfortable with the teacher because he was friendly and professional during the development of my class.

I learned many things in my first class because I had the opportunity to share with students the first experience of teaching. Fortunately, the teacher gave me some tips to the next class, and a professional and good feedback. I would like to have a better experience in my second class, and a better feedback. I really enjoyed and learned my first class.
